Fans were shocked to see F1 racer Daniel Ricciardo present at the Met Gala 2023 this week following comments he made about the event just two years ago.
The 33-year-old racing driver wore Thom Browne at the event on Monday night (May 1) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
So what did Daniel say in the past? It all had to do with Lewis Hamilton and his past assist.

Daniel was asked in the excuse my take podcast in September 2021 if I would ever attend the Met Gala.
“After looking at some of the footage, not really,” Daniel said (via Express). “Look, I mean, the way things are right now, I think you could probably get away with it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it would be an experience, but I don’t know. Seems a bit formal to me.”
Days before that interview, Lewis attended the event and bought a table inside the gala to introduce the new black designers.
While preparing for the Met Gala on Monday, Daniel told her Fashion“It’s fun, because I feel like I have to get more nervous before a race. [But] This certainly feels like I’m stepping out of my comfort zone.”
