Maggie Baird (Billie’s mother) was born in western Colorado and learned to play the piano and guitar as a teenager. She went to the University of Utah, where she studied theater and dance. She later moved to New York City herself, where she performed in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
Baird made her television debut when she appeared on the American soap opera Another world.
