Taking the stage with the help of a cane and alongside the evening’s host, Anthony Anderson, Applegate took center stage to present the awards for Best Supporting Actress and Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Applegate expressed his gratitude and humorously addressed the audience. “Thank you so much! Oh my god! You’re totally embarrassing me.” [and my] disability when standing,” Applegate joked. He also gave a clever nod to the popular weight loss drug Ozempic when he hilariously added: “Body not by Ozempic.”
Taking a trip down memory lane, Applegate recalled her iconic role as Kelly Bundy in Married with children and jokingly commented, “We don’t have to clap every time I do something,” after another round of applause.
