Not long after referring to Taylor Swift as a “jerk” at the 2024 Golden Globes, Emma Stone finally regrets making the comment.
Stone received the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture. When asked if Swift was supportive of her during the big event, Stone made the comment.
“What an idiot, right?” she joked. “I’ve known her for almost 20 years, so I’m very happy she was there. She was nominated tonight too, so I’m really happy she was there, but what an idiot.”
Although it was a funny reaction, Emma Stone stated that she would not joke about Taylor Swift again. “I definitely won’t make a joke like that again,” she explained during an interview with Variety next to poor things co-star Yorgos Lanthimos. “Because I saw headlines that really took it out of context.”
She then pointed to herself and declared, “What a fool.”

Last summer, Emma Stone couldn’t help but gush about Taylor Swift getting her tickets to the Eras Tour.
“The concert was pretty amazing,” Stone said. vanity fair in June 2023. “I was lucky because we have been friends for a long time. “I’ve known her since we were 17 and 18, so she hooked me up, which was really nice because I know those tickets are impossible to get.”
Emma Stone also said that Taylor Swift is a wonderful friend. “She leaves me speechless. I mean, the amount of sheer stamina to work three and a half hours and perform 44 songs and keep up with the extreme energy of the audience… I’ve never seen anything like it.”
When asked if he would ever consider doing a duet with Swift, Stone immediately said no. “I can’t sing for a huge stadium. Let’s not even go down that road. She is incredibly talented; I could never do what she does.”

“Mandy Moore, who was the choreographer of The The Earthwas [Taylor’s] tour choreographer,” Stone explained. “So it was a lot of beautiful things put together, and it was amazing to see.”
Also speaking about his first meeting with Swift, Stone said they met at the Young Hollywood Awards. “We stayed in touch ever since and became great friends.”
