Emma Stone spoke about the surprising appeal of making a silent film while attending the premiere of her new project. Bleat at the 61st New York Film Festival on Wednesday (October 4) in New York City.
The 34-year-old actress made a surprise appearance at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall for the special occasion, where she was joined by director Yorgos Lanthimos.
He reflected on the short film during an onstage conversation. Emma also revealed if she was interested in tackling more films without dialogue.

Emma described the opportunity to work on a silent film as a “dream come true,” according to Variety.
She went on to say: “If I never had to speak again, I would be delighted. And so would many other people…”
The actress made it clear that she was not joking with the idea: “I’m serious. What I like most is not having to talk. “I often want to think that we could cut many lines of dialogue because I think people can say a lot more without speaking.”
While acknowledging that sometimes words were essential, Emma added that she was willing to do another silent project. After the SAG-AFTRA strike, of course!
