After being separated for nearly a year, DWTS couple Sasha Farber and Emma Slater officially filed for divorce on February 21, 2023. According to official court documents, the couple cited “differences” irreconcilable” was the reason why they officially broke up. The date was set for April 1, 2022. Sasha Farber proposed to Emma during a live DWTS show in October 2016 and the couple married two years later. During the marriage proposal, he said:
“I’ve wanted to do this for a long time, honey. I admire you to every piece. Will you marry me?”

DWTS’ Sasha Farber and Emma Slater have temporarily broken up after 3 years of dating.
The DWTS couple first met on Broadway’s Scorch The Floor and confirmed their engagement two years later in 2011. However, after three years together, they ended their romance in 2014 but decided to remain friends and work closely together. Emma told Vogue that she thought the world was Sasha and that the two were still living together when they temporarily split. The performer went on to say that he was the absolute best and that she wouldn’t be near him for three years if she didn’t think about him.
She went on to say:
“He was just the best guy. I don’t believe we were meant to end up together. I believe there are other people who can make both of us happy, but I will always be his best friend. I feel like his best friend right now. It just happened the way that we went from a wonderful three-year partnership that I admire and cherish to be best friends.
She expresses her happiness with their life arrangement and her admiration for him. Emma says they both realized that things weren’t going the way they wanted, so they grew up and made that decision. She goes on to say that they are still in love and that he is the only one she has in America. They decide to stay together because she wants the best for him.
The DWTS couple reunited and decided to give their love another shot a year later in 2015, and Slater proposed a year later. During a conversation with Nama, Farber said that Emma and Sasha’s wedding was like a fairy tale. He said he kept telling his new bride how beautiful she was.
Emma went on to say:
“We’re at the top of the planet right now. It’s the most amazing day. It’s really amazing. No accidents. It’s amazing. It’s unbelievable. ‘This is not normal'” , I kept telling myself. This is not typical. This should never have happened.’ Everything went very smoothly and it was a celebration from the moment we went upstairs to party until late at night.”
According to insiders, the DWTS couple broke up in August 2022 and then there was no animosity between them. The couple recently filed for divorce. DWTS just finished its 31st season and has been refreshed for a second season on Disney+.
