Elliot revealed that a stranger threatened to assault him as he was walking to a convenience store at the corner of Sunset and La Cinega in West Hollywood.
“I’m going to give you a gay fucking beating, fagot,” the man threatened Elliot, who was able to enter the store and receive security from the employees. The man yelled from the other side of the door, “That’s why I need a gun!”
Elliot told the los angeles times“Now when I’m in Los Angeles, I don’t feel comfortable like when I went for a walk.”
He also told the newspaper that while he may feel unsafe in some places, he acknowledges that it is his privilege to be able to afford private security or stay in fancy hotel rooms.
“It doesn’t mean it’s not traumatic,” he said. “But I have resources that, in every instance that is difficult, protect me and can protect me from these things.”
