Dylan Mulvaney had a great night at the Fluid prizes!
The 26-year-old TikTok star and influencer attended the Streamy Awards 2023 at Fairmont Century Plaza on Sunday (August 27) in Los Angeles, where she won her first Streamy Award for Breakthrough Creator.
Dylan was accompanied to the event by fellow TikTok star Chris Olsen, who also presented her with the award.
In her acceptance speech, Dylan proclaimed that she was “surprised” to take home the trophy, while calling herself “a musical theater girl with a Streamy.”
For more than a year, Dylan has been documenting his transition on TikTok, where he has amassed more than 10 million followers. According to Dylan, Streamy’s award for her is an important milestone not only for her, but also for the transgender community as a whole.
“It means a lot to me, but I also think the fact that a trans person can win an award like this in such a scary time of transphobia makes me feel like there is hope,” she said. People after accepting the award.
“I have learned that I am capable of doing more than I ever expected and that it is worth continuing to keep going. In the moments of darkness that follow, a light appears and I think I feel light again,” Dylan added.
