‘DWTS’ host makes embarrassing on-air mistake about actress who died in 2016

Talk about embarrassing! dancing with the stars Host Julianne Hough made an embarrassing mistake on live television.

Viewers continue to mock the mortified co-presenter after she made an innocent but awkward comment while chatting to contestant Barry Williams.

After a captivating tango performance alongside her DWTS co-star Peta Murgatroyd, Williams approached the raised platform to speak with Hough, 35, previewing her score.

She asked, “When you are dancing, do you feel anything?” Are you channeling something?

“Actually yes.” Williams responded. “Florence Henderson was on this show and she was a friend, but also a mentor, and she was the one who encouraged me to do Dancing With the Stars, so I feel Florence here.”

“Well, I’m sure she’s just rooting for you,” Julianne responded before throwing it to the judges to hand in their scores.

What Hough didn’t seem to know was that Henderson, who competed on season 11 of DWTS, died in 2016 at the age of 82. She was the fifth contestant to be eliminated that season. She passed away due to heart failure.

Although the moment was brief, it didn’t take long for fans to take notice.

Many viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) and mocked the professional dancer for not knowing that Henderson had passed away:

It seemed that Hough really didn’t know about Florence Henderson’s death. Not everyone is perfect! Let’s hope all this happens soon. We can all agree that it could have been much worse.
