But in late 1981, the San Francisco 49ers improved and won the Super Bowl and the 1984 seasons. Except for 1982, Dwight made the playoffs every year since starting in 1981.
On January 10, 1982, the San Francisco 49ers won the game against the Dallas Cowboys 27-21 with 58 seconds left in the 1981 NFC Championship game.
During the game, Dwight jumped into the end zone and caught a 6-yard pass from quarterback Joe Montana to tie the game. Furthermore, the game is famous as “The Catch” in NFL history.
