Duvaraga Prabhakaran was the daughter of Velupillai Prabhakaran, the founder and leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). He died in May 2009.

Duvaraga Prabhakaran was born in Sri Lanka to a Tamil Hindu family. His ancestors were from the Thirumeni Kudumbam (aka Thirumeni family), who built the Sivan temple at Valvettithurai.

Duvaraga’s father was Velupillai Prabhakaran, a militant leader and founder of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). He was killed in a shootout with the Sri Lankan army in May 2009. Duvaraga’s mother, Mathivathani Erambu, was reportedly killed by the Sri Lankan military; However, the army later denied killing him and said they had no information about his whereabouts. He had two brothers. The elder brother, Charles Anthony Prabhakaran, who was the head of the LTTE’s Information and Technology Department, died during a clash with the Sri Lankan Army on 18 May 2009 and the younger brother, Balachandran Prabhakaran, was shot dead by the Sri Lankan Army in May 2009.

Death
Duvaraga Prabhakaran was reportedly killed by the Sri Lankan army; However, the army later denied killing him and said they had no information about his whereabouts. Duvaraga’s body, along with the body of his mother Mathivathani, was found by the Sri Lankan Army on 20 May 2009.
