Shea and Syd McGee from the Netflix original show Dream Home Makeover, which premiered its first season in October 2020, are the sweetest husband and wife duo streaming. Since 2014, they have been running two successful businesses. They’ve also written a highly-anticipated home design book, Make Life Beautiful. The successful hit reality TV show ran for four seasons, with the last season airing in 2022. However, their personal beliefs remain under wraps.
In Dream Home Makeover, the husband and wife team help individual families to find beauty in their homes and lives. Of the work they do, Shea said, “Whether our client has 2 million dollars or $20,000, I want them all to feel that sense of peace when they walk in the door.” Shea is the aesthetic eye on the home-themed reality show, while Syd handles the marketing and financial end. There is no concrete evidence that the McGee family are or aren’t Mormon, but there is some reason to think they might be. In 2007, Shea graduated from Brigham Young University, owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the Mormon Church. Also, Mormon Wiki claims that the two are registered members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This evidence is the most substantial clue that the pair’s Mormon.
We have yet to hear the pair publicly confirm whether they are Mormon, so the jury’s still out. However, they’re members of the LDS Church, and moved to Utah from California. Therefore, it’s likely that the McGees are indeed Mormon, despite the lack of confirmation. One certainty is the husband and wife of Dream Home Makeover are dynamic, fun, and design-minded!
