To support those who have supported him and his music career, Drake reportedly gifted a cancer survivor fan $100,000 at a recent concert in Nashville.
According to News Channel 5, the fan, Lauren Schwallier, had been diagnosed with breast cancer two days before her 33rd birthday. “Being exhausted, sleeping all the time, not being fully present, it’s been hard,” she told the outlet.
To combat mental health issues, Schwallier decided to chronicle her cancer journey on social media. She said the experience has been positive and a way to help others who are going through the same type of journey.
Earlier this month, Schallier’s friend surprised her with tickets to see Drake at Bridgestone Arena. Music is my favorite and concerts are my happy place, so I was ready to go celebrate and have a good night. I saw it in 2018 and it puts on the best show. I thought, ‘next time I come, I’ll be on that floor.’
However, she did not expect what happened next. During the show, Drake encouraged the crowd to make someone else’s day. He held up a sign that said, “I just finished chemo and on the other hand, there is no more chemo.” Other concertgoers quickly rushed to get Drake’s attention.
Drake declared on stage that Schwallier was a “real soldier” and gave him $100,000. “Without a doubt,” he gushed. “He was very kind and it shows that God is working through him.”
Schwallier added that the rapper encouraged her to give more. “I will be eternally grateful”.

In one of his recent Instagram posts, Drake couldn’t help but share a sweet message sent to him by his mother Sandi Graham.
In the post, Graham watches his son perform on stage while texting a friend. The message reads: “I always cry when I come to his concerts; I’m so proud of him.”
Drake stated in the caption: “Posting this as a central keepsake forever.”
