Introduced in the unofficial Dragon Ball movie Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan in 1993, Broly instantly became a fan favorite just for his Broly and badass nature, and more than that, not to mention his ridiculous level of strength. With the release of the 2018 Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, Broly went through subtle changes to his official debut, and @gwartdesigns took the time to combine the “old” and “new” looks. his to great effect.
The third drawing in a similar set of fanart seen by @gwartdesigns shows two powerful Dragon Ball transformations side by side – like Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue and Super Saiyan 4 forms, or the Beji Tower of Majin and Super incarnations Saiyan God – this Broly work takes things away to a degree that doesn’t simply compare two transformations. Broly in his green Legendary Super Saiyan form is drawn on either side of the image, with the left side of the artwork depicting a non-canonical version of the character, while the right side of the image shows canonical version. @gwartdesigns painted with pupil-less eyes and an angry expression that would make Vegeta blush, added earrings and necklace accessories for “old” Broly”, facial scars for “new” Broly, and Finally, their green color with subtle color variation and distinct hair detail style further differentiates these two versions of this epic character.
