Dr. Mike was born Mikhail Varshavsky on Sunday, 12 November 1989 (age 33 years; as of 2022) in Saransk, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) (now Russia). Their zodiac sign is Scorpio. When Mike was six years old, he came to the United States with his family. According to him, his father decided to move him to America due to rising anti-Semitism in Russia. In an interview, Mike said that when he came to New York he faced many difficulties due to language and cultural barriers. He said,
When we came to the United States (to New York), I faced a lot of problems growing up. I only knew three English words: yes, no and maybe. On the first day of school in Brooklyn, my teacher assumed I spoke English and asked me a question. I said “yes”, so she moved forward. He asked me another question. I said “No,” and she moved on. He decided to clarify with another question. When I said “maybe”, she knew I had absolutely no idea what I was talking about there. I think most of the kids coming from different countries have to go through this. “Eventually, I got over it and it was better then.”

After completing his schooling, Mike enrolled at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) where he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree from 2007 to 2010. From 2010 to 2014, Mike pursued his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree at NYIT. After completing his formal education in 2014, Mike worked as a resident physician at Atlantic Healthcare System from June 2014 to June 2017. In January 2016, he began serving as President of DM Operations. In February 2018, he was hired by Atlantic Healthcare System as an attending physician. In 2018, he began working as a primary care physician at Chatham Family Medicine in New Jersey. Mike made his professional debut on October 29, 2022, when he fought a boxing match against retired UFC player Chris Avila. Mike lost this match via unanimous decision. Chris said in an interview after the match,

Birthday party during the COVID-19 pandemic
In November 2021, Mike received criticism for hosting his birthday party in Miami in which guests, including Mike, did not wear masks. He was criticized not only by his followers, but also by bioethicist Arthur Caplan, director of the department of medical ethics at NYU Langone Health. In an interview, Arthur said that Mike was not a good role model for his followers, and he should be criticized for openly violating the pandemic norms set by the government. Later, Mike released a statement apologizing for his actions and saying that he “messed up” and that he “needs to do better.”
