Announcing his death, Defected Records stated that DJ Mighty Mouse suffered from an aortic aneurysm, which resulted in his death. According to the press release, he was at home at the time of his death, meaning he was not hospitalized.
An aortic aneurysm is a bulge that develops in the wall of the main blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the body. Aortic aneurysms are classified into two types: abdominal aortic aneurysms and thoracic aortic aneurysms. The first occurs in the part of the aorta that passes through the abdomen, while the second occurs in the part where the aorta passes through the thoracic cavity.
The disease increases the likelihood of developing a tear in the inner layer of the aortic wall. The risk of this condition can be reduced by monitoring blood pressure and cholesterol levels and by stopping smoking. DJ Mighty Mouse’s medical history is currently missing, so it’s unknown how long he’s had the disease.
