Disha Patani was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. His actual age has been a matter of dispute. According to some sources, she was born on 13 June 1992 (31 years; age as in 2023), while some other sources say that the actress was born on 27 July 1995 (28 years; age as in 2023).

As a child, she aspired to become an Air Force pilot. After completing her schooling, Disha went to Amity University, Lucknow to pursue a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. When she was in her first year, she started getting many modeling offers. She left the second year of her degree and went on to participate in the 2013 Femina Miss India Indore pageant.
