Digvijay Deshmukh is an Indian cricketer who plays for Maharashtra. He represented Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

Digvijay Deshmukh was born on Sunday, 12 April 1998 (age 22 years; as in 2020) in Ambajogai, Beed district, Maharashtra. His zodiac sign is Aries. To provide better cricket training facilities to Digvijay, his family moved to Mumbai and admitted him to MIG Cricket Club Academy in Mumbai. Digvijay studied at Kataria High School, Pune.

Her father, Rajkumar Deshmukh, is a school teacher, while her mother, Shobha Deshmukh, is a housewife. He also has an elder sister, Darshana Deshmukh.
livelihood
Digvijay Singh started his career as an all-rounder and played his first T20 match for Maharashtra on 12 November 2019 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019–20. He played 7 matches in that season and performed all-round, taking 9 wickets and scoring 256 runs.
On 17 December 2018, he played his first Ranji Trophy match for Maharashtra against Jammu and Kashmir. In that match he took 6 wickets and scored 61 runs. His career saw a rapid rise when he was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 20 lakh to play in IPL 2020.
A stint as an actor
Apart from being a professional cricketer, Deshmukh has also tried his hand in acting. He appeared in the Bollywood film Kai Po Che (2013), in which he played the role of a talented child cricketer, “Ali Hashmi”, who was trained by Sushant Singh Rajput’s character in the film.
Facts/General Knowledge
- In 2012, when the shooting of the film “Kai Po Che” ended, Deshmukh was just 15 years old and had promised Sushant Singh that he would not meet him until he became a skilled cricketer. However, they regretted their decision after the actor was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his home in June 2020. Talking about this he said,
He was fond of cricket. On the last day of shooting I had promised him that I would not meet him until I became a good quality cricketer. This year, when I was selected to play for Mumbai Indians, I decided to meet him, but then the lockdown happened and now he is no more. I wish there was no lockdown, at least I would have been able to fulfill the promise made to them. I failed to do so. I wanted to keep the promise. I regret it.”
- After starring in “Kai Po Che”, several companies approached Digvijay to appear in TV commercials; However, he turned down all the offers as he wanted to focus only on cricket.
