The rumor gained traction after an Instagram celebrity gossip account, DeuxMoi, claimed that Swift had a ceremony in the United Kingdom in 2020 or 2021 that supposedly “NEVER became legal.”
DeuxMoi wrote: “I have no reason to lie, I don’t give a damn what she does!!!!!” DeuxMoi wrote. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about it in a song, but just because she doesn’t sing about something doesn’t mean it didn’t happen!!!”
Responding to the rumors on Twitter/X, Paine dismissed the claims, stating: “Enough of these fabricated lies about Taylor by Deuxmoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. It’s crazy to post this. It is time for you to be responsible for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these.”
