Dharmana Kadur is an Indian actor who works in the Kannada film industry. He is known for playing comic roles in Kannada films such as Ram Ram Re… (2016), Mugulu Nage (2017), Man of the Match (2022), and Rajayoga (2023).

Dharmana Kadur was born on Wednesday, 8 February 1984 (age 40 years; as of 2024) in Taluk Kadur, Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka. Their zodiac sign is Aquarius. He did his schooling from Government Junior College (GJC), Kadur. He grew up watching plays in his hometown and developed a passion for performing arts and theater during his childhood. Recalling the same thing in an interview, he said,
I grew up watching all-night dramas in my hometown. My father and aunts used to sing kolata and sobana padagalu. In school, I have acted in many plays like Kuvempu’s ‘Jalagara’, ‘Kalki’ and ‘Ondu Bogase Neeru’.
He used to watch veteran comedian Ananth Nag and Shashi Kumar’s films like Gauri Ganesh (1991) and Policeena Hendathi (1990). During his school days, Dharmanna was the class joker, who would make everyone laugh by imitating various actors. Dharmanna and Kannada actor Nataraja were classmates in Kadur. Later, the duo trained under veteran actor TS Nagabharana. He pursued graduate studies in Kannada as an alternative at Kuvempu University in Kadur (2002–2005) and obtained an MA in Journalism in Kannada through distance learning.

Dharmanna Kadur started his journey as an actor with actor Nataraja and director D Satya Prakash. Dharmanna, Satya Prakash and Nataraj’s association goes back much before the film Ram Ram Re… (2016). They were classmates in Kadur and worked together in theater for about eight years. Later, Nataraja and Dharmanna also trained under veteran actor TS Nagabharana. Eventually, they split up and found their own ways to venture into Sandalwood. Talking about their friendship in an interview, Kadur said,
Dharmanna honed his acting skills while working as a theater artist at Guru Sansthan in Hubli, Karnataka under Yashwant Sardeshpande’s drama troupe. Various plays he acted in include All the Best, Sahi Ri Sahi, Hingadra Dot Comedy and Ondu Aata Bhattaraddu.
In 2013, he starred in Dali Dhananjay’s short film, Jayanagar 4 Block, which went viral when released on YouTube. The screenplay was jointly written by Dhananjay, Satya Prakash and Nataraja. “Jayanagar Fourth Block” marked the acting debut of Dhananjay, Nataraja, Dharmana and Bimbasree Ninasam, while it was also the first directorial project of Satya Prakash. Later, she starred in the short film I Love You. Despite a strong foundation, it was not easy for Dharmanna to act in front of the camera. In an interview, he talked about the shooting of his first film, Ram Ram Re… (2016) and said,
On the first day of production of ‘Rama Rama Re’ I wasted half a day for one shot. I told Satya not to waste his time and asked him to take my place. He showed confidence in me and once I hit my shot, there was no looking back.”
In 2016, Dharmana Kadur came into limelight with his first Kannada film Ram Ram Re…, in which he played the role of Dharma, sharing the screen with Nataraja. The film was directed by D Satya Prakash. Dharmanna won hearts with his timing, body language and dialogue delivery.
In 2018, he received an award in the category of “Best Comedian” by Radio City 91.1FM at the Radio City Cine Awards in Kannada for his role in Ram Ram Re… (2016).
He gained popularity for playing the role of Pulakeshi’s friend Gopi in the romantic comedy film Mugulu Nage (2017). In 2019, he appeared in the films Lambodara, Striker, Padde Huli and Kannada Gothila. In 2021, he starred in the film Sakath. Other Kannada films in which he appeared in 2021 were Inspector Vikram and Madhagaja.
