Dhanya Ananya is an Indian actor who predominantly works in the Malayalam entertainment industry. She is best known for appearing in the Malayalam film Bheeshma Parva (2022), in which she played the role of Elsa.

Dhanya Ananya was born on Friday, 30 October 1998 (age 24 years; as in 2022) in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Scorpio. When Dhanya was a 7th class student, she moved from Meerut to Kerala with her parents. Soon after completing her schooling, Dhanya obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Later, he studied Master of Arts in Drama and Theater from Sri Shankaracharya Sanskrit University in Kalady, Kerala.

  • According to Dhanya, when she was studying in school, she was not interested in pursuing a career in acting; However, after joining college, he started going to theater and developed interest in acting. Talking about this in an interview, Dhanya said,

    I never even thought about acting when I was in school. Then everything changed when I did a course in Mass Communication and Journalism at Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram. At that time they acted together in students’ project works. I used to go to watch plays in school. When I fell in love with drama, I fell in love with acting. When I see a character on stage nothing else comes to my mind. I thought and wanted to study acting and learn more. But when I told this at home, there was opposition at first. Go study journalism and act in drama.”

  • While Dhanya was pursuing her graduation, she worked in Malayalam short films and music albums directed by her friends. He worked in several short films like Desperate, Extremity and The Heart of a Dog and music albums like Oru Sandhya and Chameli. In 2017, Dhanya’s starrer short film Heart of a Dog was selected at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). Talking about this in an interview, Dhanya said,

    I had never even thought of becoming a film star. I didn’t watch much of the film. I did my graduation in Mass Communication from Mar Ivanius. I started acting in my friend’s short films in my second year. Short films like Desperate and Extremity, a music video titled Oru Sandhya, The Heart of a Dog, Chameli and many other works. Srikrishnan Chetan’s ‘The Heart of a Dog’ was selected at IFFK 2017. Then I started feeling like it would be good if I understood acting more. Theater fascinated me. When he went to Thrissur for a workshop, he heard about Kalady Sri Shankara University and enrolled there to study.

  • Before coming to films, Dhanya worked as a theater artist. In 2016, he wrote and directed a theater play titled ‘The Play’. He has also acted in several Malayalam theatrical productions such as Thuramukham (2018) and Phir (2018).
