Demon Slayer’s Gorgeous Art Takes Center Stage In New Artbook

Fans of the hit anime and manga series Demon Slayer will soon have a new way to enjoy the artwork as a new art book is slated for publication. The Art of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Anime will feature several hundred pieces of art from the anime. This will be a great volume for fans to add to their collections.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – created by Koyoharu Gotouge – began serializing in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016. The manga reached completion in 2020. The anime based on it began airing in 2019 and is still ongoing. While Demon Slayer’s manga series has concluded, the anime has already won numerous awards and so did a film adaptation sequel to the anime: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train. Now, fans who need more will have some fun bonus content coming from VIZ.

On Twitter, VIZ revealed the announcement for the anime artbook, The Art of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Anime. It has the creative team of ufotable and Koyoharu Gotouge, the animation studio behind the anime and the mangaka, respectively. The book is said to feature over three hundred art pieces, which will include art, illustrations, and production material from the Demon Slayer anime.

Demon Slayer Keeps Giving Fans More of What They Want

According to VIZ, this artbook will focus on illustrations that were created for the Tanjiro Kamado Unwavering Resolve arc. This spans the first season of the series, encompassing the first twenty-six episodes. The cover features an exclusive illustration by Akira Matsushima, who serves as the series’ character designer and chief animation director. Thus far, the series has had two seasons, with Unwavering Resolve being the first arc, followed by the film adapting the Mugen Train arc, and finally the Entertainment District arc in the second season. While fans wait for Season 3’s “Swordsmith Village” arc, they can revisit the show’s beginnings. Yet that’s not all that VIZ will have available for Demon Slayer fans in 2023.

In addition to the anime artbook, VIZ is also set to publish a second coloring book. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Official Coloring Book 2 will have seventy new illustrations from Koyoharu Gotouge. Both books are open for pre-order. Considering the popularity that both the manga and the anime have garnered over the last few years, it isn’t surprising that VIZ would want to find new ways for fans to continue engaging with the series. In October, a new light novel – Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Flower of Happiness – was released, and next February, another is slated for release (One-Winged Butterfly). With so much to look forward to, fans of the Demon Slayer anime and manga series will be excited once Summer 2023 comes, bringing Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Official Coloring Book 2 and The Art of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Anime with it.
