Deepika Chikhlia was born as “Deepti Chikhlia” on Thursday, 29 April 1965 (age 55 years; as in 2020), in Bombay (now Mumbai). Their zodiac sign is Taurus. She grew up in Girnar Apartment in Pali Hills; An affluent residential area in Bandra, a suburb of Mumbai. Deepika was a passionate actor since her school days. I don’t want Hemant to become completely like Ram.”
When asked whether it was an arranged match or a love match, he said,
This is a completely arranged marriage. Both the families have known each other for years, but I went out with them before giving the final consent. Then I said yes.”
She has two daughters with Hemant – Nidhi Topiwala (a make-up artist; born 1993) and Juhi Topiwala.
Talking about the birth of her first child she said,
Having a child made it very difficult for me to concentrate on politics, so this was the only stint for me (in politics). Although I received several other offers from producers, my priorities had changed.

Deepika Chikhlia started her film career with the 1983 Bollywood film Sun Meri Laila, in which she played the lead role of Annie opposite Raj Kiran.
Although his first film was a hit, he could not get A-grade films for a long time. Meanwhile, he did supporting roles in films such as Bhagwan Dada (1986), Kaala Dhanda Gore Log (1986), and Dori (1989). Subsequently, Deepika appeared in B-grade horror films – Cheekh (1986) and Raat Ke Andhere Mein (1987). Her character’s name in “Raat Ke Andhere Mein” was “Sexy Rosie”.
Both the films failed at the box office. However, Deepika regrets doing B-grade films; Talking about her acting in B-grade films she says,
I was badly cheated. This was my biggest mistake. It wasn’t that I needed money or was desperate for a role in the film, I was just cheated. I am a practical and simple person and I could not understand the shady methods of that filmmaker.
After working in B-grade films, he worked in some A-grade films. He has only two hit Hindi films to his name – Ghar Ka Chirag (1989) and Rupaay Dus Crore (1991); In both the films, Rajesh Khanna was in the lead role while Deepika was in a supporting role and she got less footage in these films. Although he got more footage in the 1994 Bollywood film Khudai, the film was commercially unsuccessful. Apart from Hindi films, Deepika has worked in films of many other languages including Malayalam, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Gujarati. She made her Malayalam debut with Ithile Iniyum Varu (1986), in which she played the role of “Priya”.
His only Bhojpuri film till date is ‘Sajanwa Bairi Bhaile Hamar’ (1987).
He debuted in Kannada in 1989 with the film Indrajith.
His only Bengali work is ‘Asha O Bhalobasha’ (1989).
Deepika made her Telugu debut in 1989 with the film Yamapaasam.

Before getting the role of Sita in Ramayana, she had worked with Ramanand Sagar in two other popular television serials – Dada Dadi Ki Kahani in 1985 and Vikram Aur Betaal in 1988. She again played the role of Sita in the Ramayana series – Luv Kush. (1988).
She returned to television with the TV serial Chutta Chheda (2017) on Colors Gujarati channel.
Politics
Deepika Chikhalia is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and in 1991 she became a Lok Sabha member from the Baroda constituency of Gujarat. Talking about her foray into politics she says,
In fact, my grandfather had actively worked for the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), so there were RSS roots in my family.
She considers Atal Bihari Vajpayee as her role model in politics.
In the early years of his political career, he worked with party stalwarts like Narendra Modi and Lal Krishna Advani.
Late Sushma Swaraj was one of his close associates in politics.
