David Caprio is an American businessman, investor, lawyer, and politician. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He has served as a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives from the 47th district (1999–2003) and the 34th district (2003–2011). He is an attorney at the Caprio Law Firm, which he founded with his father, Frank Caprio. He is the co-owner of the production house CityLife Productions, which produced the TV show ‘Caught in Providence’ featuring Frank Caprio’s judicial actions.

On December 21, 1999, he became a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives from the 47th district and served in this position until 2003. On January 7, 2003, he began serving as a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives. 34th district. The presidency of the Democratic Party is challenging and time-consuming, especially in an election year. There are many talented Democrats who are running for office. I cannot, at this time, devote the time and energy necessary to assist in their respective campaigns. Accordingly, I will no longer serve as party president.
His resignation as chairman came amid a state police investigation of contracts to run concessions at three state beaches: Misquamicut, Scarborough and Roger Wheeler. In 2017, he became co-owner of the production house CityLife Productions, which produced the TV show ‘Caught in Providence’ featuring the judicial actions of Frank Caprio.
