Dave Coulier Talks Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen Skipping ‘Fuller House’ & His Idea for Another Reboot

Dave Coulier opened up about his relationship with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen after they starred together in Full House.

If you forgot, the Olsen twins came to fame sharing the role of the youngest Tanner sister Michelle in the beloved sitcom. While they stayed with the show through it’s conclusion in 1995, the pair opted out of returning for the Netflix reboot Fuller House years later.

In a new interview, Dave revealed if there was any bad blood over their decision. He even talked about the last time that the girls got together with the rest of the cast.

He also teased a possible idea for another Full House reboot after the tragic death of Bob Saget last year. Dave had a potential title and plans to address the loss of the patriarch of the Tanner family.

Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, Dave confirmed that the cast linked up with Mary-Kate and Ashley while mourning Bob‘s death.

“It was so sweet to see them and just share some time with them, you know, because they were babies and little girls when we did the show,” he explained. Dave continued, hinting at why they opted out of returning for Fuller House. “So they have a different perspective of the show.”

While he was already “an adult” at the time of the show, he pointed out that the twins were cast when they were literal babies. “But for them, imagine growing up, you know, on the Warner Brothers lot. I mean, we saw each other more than we saw our own family. So for them, I think there’s a different perspective there.”

What about plans for a reboot?

“I still think we should do Fullest House where we keep Bob alive and talk about him and his legacy stays intact,” he proposed. “It could be like the Friends cast, but it’s all of us as adults. We’re away from any kids, you know, and we just kind of get back to being a family again.”

He isn’t the only co-star to propose another reboot after Bob‘s death.

Speaking of Mary-Kate and Ashley, John Stamos shared that he initially had a different reaction to learning that the pair were opting out of Fuller House. He also admitted to getting the girls briefly fired and explained that he himself almost quit the show at one point.
