Dark WandaVision Fan Art Shows Scarlet Witch Controlling Vision’s Corpse

WandaVision fan art imagines Scarlet Witch controlling Vision’s corpse in the show. The synthezoid technically died at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, but he’s miraculously back in the MCU, living the perfect suburbia life with Scarlet Witch.

Marvel Studios kicked off the much-delayed Phase 4 with their first official TV show produced exclusively on Disney+. Set after Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision finds the star-crossed lovers living the simple family life in Westview. Time appears to progress differently in the pocket reality as not long after they moved, they welcomed their twins, Billy and Tommy. Amidst the lighthearted jokes and sitcom references, however, there’s a bigger and darker narrative unfolding in the show. The latest episode further proved that as people from the outside world attempt to find out what’s exactly happening inside the bubble.

Before WandaVision premiered, the fact that Vision is back with Wanda was already an indication that not everything is what appears to be in the show.  As Darcy Lews reiterated in the latest episode titled “We Interrupt This Program,” Vision is dead and he was not brought back by the reverse snap because he didn’t die from the decimation. With that in mind, digital artist spdrmnkyxxiii attempts to explain what’s really happening in Westview with fan art that sees Scarlet Witch controlling Vision’s dead body. Check it out below:

In arguably the most shocking moment in WandaVision episode 4, Vision appeared gray and with a glaring hole in his head, which is what he looked like after Thanos plucked the Mind Stone from his forehead in Infinity War. The synthezoid’s corpse hasn’t been seen in the MCU since then, so it was a truly terrifying moment when Wanda saw him in this state. Endgame was supposed to have a tag scene with him inside a body bag drawer as a lead-up to the events of WandaVision, but this was eventually scrapped by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige himself. Given this, the sight of his corpse functioning as if it was still alive was an effective reminder that Vision is indeed dead and WandaVision needs to explain how he’s back playing house with Scarlet Witch.

The interesting thing about WandaVision is, everything is possible at this point. It has provided clues enough for viewers to come up with their own theories, but it’s still difficult to predict what’s exactly happening in Westview. After the last episode, there’s a general consensus that Scarlet Witch is solely behind all this as a way to cope with Vision’s death, not to mention the strings of tragedies she has endured over the years. But it’s still very much possible that there’s another entity at play here which will be part of the show’s final plot twist.
