Daniel William Sileo was born on January 3, 1964 in Samford, Connecticut to Italian-American parents. Andy Robustelli, a cousin, is a former defensive lineman for the New York Giants. Dan went to the University of Maryland, College Park. Played in 10 games as a freshman, breaking Hall of Famer Randy White’s record. He was a backup on Maryland’s Atlantic Coast Conference championship team in 1983. He then transferred to the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then to Miami University in Coral Gables, Florida in 1984.

Career
Dan spent his entire NFL career as a backup and special teamer, although he made his regular season debut in 1987. In 1992, he attempted to return to the World League to play for the Orlando Thunder. He was a member of the Las Vegas Sting, for which he was named honorable mention All-League and helped lead the team to the playoffs. He was hired by Cowboy Bob Orton in 1993 and trained in Atlanta. He wrestled for the Catch Wrestling Association in Vienna, Austria as Bonecrusher Sileo. He then signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling and competed in the Tokyo Dome.
Dan began his radio career after being hired as the sports anchor for the Dunbar and Rosie morning show on 810 KGO San Francisco. He then went to another local station, 680 KNBR, where he presented Sportsphone 68. In 1998, he moved to Tampa and began doing the morning show on 620 WDAE. In 2000, he hosted the Dan Sileo Show from 4am to 8am. One of his longest gigs was as the morning drive host on 620 WDAE in Tampa. He was recruited by The Mighty of San Diego 1090 AM XEPRS in February 2014 to host the morning show from 6-9am. In January 2018, Sileo left The Mighty at 1090 AM for a new chat show, The Machine. Similarly, IHeartMedia hired him in August 2019 for an afternoon broadcast on Sports 910 KGME in Phoenix.
