News about Dj Gregory
For the first 5 years of his life, DJ Gregory had to “army” between rooms in his parents’ house. He couldn’t walk and couldn’t stand up on his own.
He had cerebral palsy, a congenital condition that affects movement, muscle tone and posture, when he was born ten weeks early. Grgur’s existence was made difficult by the fact that he was born with crossed eyes and crooked legs.
His abductor muscles, which help maintain balance, were removed in one of five surgeries when he was in first grade to untangle his legs. After the final surgery, both legs were broken, cast in casts and held with a stick while they healed to prevent them from crossing over.
The child underwent six eye surgeries, of which a month and a half was confined to a wheelchair. However, Gregory began to act the way the doctors warned his parents he would never do so after he was born, when they removed the bandages on him.
Gregory has also regularly participated in PGA TOUR events since 2008, playing an average of 45-48 tournaments per year. A player of his choice will accompany him for all four rounds. Gregory joined another expert in the last two days in case the first one didn’t join.
Since 2008, Gregory has traveled more than 14,000 miles and raised more than $1 million for his Walking For Kids fund, thanks largely to the generosity of TOUR athletes like world No. 1 Jon Rahm , his pro at this week’s WM Phoenix Open.
Gregory received the TOUR Courage Award on Tuesday in a surprise event at TPC Scottsdale. This honor is given to someone who has overcome adversity, such as a life-changing accident or illness, to make a significant contribution to the game.
Gregory is the first non-PGA TOUR player to receive this honor. Since it was first introduced in 2012, Erik Compton (2013), Jarrod Lyle (2015), Gene Sauers (2017) and Morgan Hoffmann have each won four times. (2020).
