Twilight Director Catherine Hardwicke, 68, said she already has two actors in her sights for lead roles in a reboot, if it happens.
In an interview about observing On the podcast, Hardwicke stated that Jenna Ortega and Jacob Elordi “would be perfect” to play Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.

“I mean, it’s amazing. “Probably today it would be Edward,” said the director, referring to Elordi, 26 years old.
“I think there are a lot of really interesting young actors today. Of course, you just mentioned Jenna Ortega, she’s amazing,” Hardwicke added.
Ortega would replace actress Kristen Stewart while Elordi would replace Robert Pattinson if the project were to become a reality.

“When he came to my house he had black bangs for hair and he was a bit out of shape because he was in the pub all the time,” Hardwicke said. “I thought, ‘It works not only in person, but also on screen.’ I had to be sure.
