CNN’s Christine Romans Is Leaving the Cable News Channel After 24 Years

Christine Romans is exiting CNN.

The 52-year-old broadcast journalist, known for being an anchor and chief business correspondent on Early Start, is leaving the news channel after over two decades.

She confirmed the news on Friday morning (July 28), along with an on-air goodbye on CNN This Morning.

“It’s impossible to sum up 24 wonderful and transformative years at CNN, but here it goes: five elections, a dot-com boom and bust, 9/11, a housing bubble and financial crisis, and a global pandemic. Oh … and a wedding, 3 baby boys, 3 books and 10 years of 3 a.m. wake-up calls!” she said in a statement to THR.

“I’ve climbed the mountain and it’s time for me to climb a new one, but I’m forever grateful to have worked alongside some of the most talented journalists in the business.”

She reportedly made the decision to leave recently, and is not expected to head to another news channel.
