Chris Pratt’s Mother’s Day post is sparking controversy online.
On Sunday (May 14), the 43-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy The star took to social media to share a message praising his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger. The couple share two daughters, Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 1.
However, he noticeably left out his ex Anna Faris, who is the mother of his eldest and only child, 10-year-old Jack.
The decision is at the center of an online conversation with fans on both sides.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers. Especially thankful today for Katherine. You are an amazing partner. You have provided me with such a blessed life. Our two daughters are so lucky to have you and you are the best step-mom to Jack,” Chris wrote in his Instagram post.
Some fans thought that he should have recognized Anna since she is Jack’s mother.
“My ex-husband sent me a very nice message wishing me a happy Mother’s Day. The marriage didn’t work out, but at least he knows I’m a good mother to our son. It’s just thank you,” wrote one person.
“Tom Brady managed to thank both of his exes in his Mother’s Day post. But I guess we can’t expect everyone to be perfect,” another Instagram user wrote in the comments section.
Others pointed out that Chris’ message thanked “all the mothers”, effectively including Anna. They also asked if it was necessary to praise an ex on Mother’s Day.
“His separation with his ex-wife was very amicable, and they are both very happy in their new marriages. Let it go, and let it be. Ask yourself this: you, or someone close to you, is divorcing and remarrying… Are you really going to mention your ex, or expect them to acknowledge yours, every time the holidays roll around or a thank you post is made? ? ? the lawyer wrote.
Others asked if Anna had shared a message about Chis on Father’s Day, pointing out what they saw as double standards.
This isn’t the first time Chris has sparked controversy over a social media post. He revealed that criticism of a post celebrating his “healthy daughter” brought him to tears last year.
