Chris Evans shared a special fact about his beloved dog Dodger and the inspiration for his name.
The 41 year old man Captain America The star adopted him in 2015 while filming a movie at an animal shelter and called the adoption “the best decision of my life” last year.
During a recent interview, he talked about how he named the dog and how it was inspired by a lesser-known Disney movie.

Meanwhile Good morning americaChris recalled adopting “the real celebrity of the Evans household.”
“He’s so sweet,” she said of Dodger, adding that he was “overloaded with cuteness.”
The conversation turned to how he named Dodger, and the inspiration came from Disney’s oliver and companywhich was inspired by Charles Dickens Oliver Twist.
“He was a stray dog. He was a little orphan. You know, the Artful Dodger is something like that… I wish I could tell that he was a Charles Dickens reference. It’s actually a more lively reference. they made a movie oliver and company – the movie I grew up on that is based on Oliver Twist. The dog that played Artful Dodger looked just like Dodger,” he explained.
Chris talked about pet adoption a couple of years ago. Most recently, he revealed if he was tempted to take his shield and go back to being Captain America.
