Earlier we lived in separate rooms. I used to go out with Telugu people often. At that time I did not like going out with North Indian people. He ate everything, I only ate Indian food. That’s why I used to go alone. Our coach asked us to live together, go out together and now we have become good friends, he knows me well now and I also know everything about him.
After sorting out all the differences, they emerged as a dynamic duo of Indian badminton. Both came into limelight for the first time after winning Tata Open India International Challenge 2016. Our reaction says it all – have we reached the quarter-finals? Well sometimes even after giving your best it is not enough to guarantee your place in the quarter finals. When the draw came out we knew we were part of the strongest pool and we needed to be at our best to go beyond the group stage. Unfortunately for us, it ended with 3 pairs each winning 2 matches, making win/loss the deciding factor in the games. But that’s the way the game is and we have to live with it.”
