On 8 September 2020, Chirag got engaged to Krishna Mukherjee after dating her for almost a year. The destination engagement was made in navy style in Manali. While Krishna Mukherjee wore a stunning off-shoulder white gown, Chirag chose his navy uniform for the occasion.

During an interview, Krishna Mukherjee shared her feelings about her engagement with Chirag and said,
I will become a Mrs. next year but yes, it feels great to always be with someone who is so loving, caring and funny. I, my sister and friends did all the preparation and planning but mostly they were taking care of everything and I was just approving them. There are lots of surprises for me and my fiancé.
In the same interview, Krishna shared that he had revealed his dream of getting engaged in the mountains.

Chirag Batliwala met Krishna Mukherjee for the first time in 2021 through a mutual friend. They immediately fell in love with each other and started dating.

Talking about how he met Chirag during an interview, Krishna Mukherjee said,
We met through mutual friends in December last year and clicked instantly. He is not part of this industry; He is in the merchant navy. I met him for the first time when he was in his uniform and was immediately attracted to him. He is not familiar with my profession, so I am not sharing his name as he is a private person.

Chirag started working at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement as a Sailor (Second Officer) in August 2013. He worked there till March 2020 and later resigned from the post.
