‘Charmed’ star Shannen Doherty reveals the real reason she was fired

More than 20 years after she was fired Delighted, Shannen Doherty reveals what led her to leave the hit supernatural series.

During his recent Let’s be clear On the podcast episode, Doherty spoke to his former co-star Holly Marie Comb about what really caused his sudden departure from Delighted. “Other people assigned me the narrative that ‘I quit,’” Doherty explained. “I didn’t assign it to myself. “I think I’m at that point in my life where I don’t want to keep lying about it, and I don’t want to keep lying about something that meant a lot to me, something that I loved doing.”

Shannen Doherty also noted that she loved going to Delighted. She said she loved the people he worked with on the production. However, she admitted that her fellow show star, Alyssa Milano, ended up being the key reason she was fired. Doherty stated that Milano threatened the production with a lawsuit if they did not remove her from the show.

“I remember they looked at me at that moment,” Doherty said of the meeting with his representatives. Meanwhile, Delighted Co-star Holly Marie Combs confirmed that Alyssa Milano threatened a lawsuit if Shannen Doherty wasn’t fired.

Shannen Doherty later said that she never remembered being mean to Milano on set. “I remember an episode I directed where she did something over Christmas break,” she recalled. “And they asked me to work out some things with her. And he couldn’t have been more kind and understanding.”
