After graduating in June 1982, Chandra Kumar Bose served as a marketing executive for eighteen years at the Tata Management Training Centre in Jamshedpur. In September 2000, he started working as a director at Bose Information Technology, a company founded by his brother, Surya Bose, in Hamburg, Germany. The company specializes in human resource consultancy and skill development.

Politics

Chandra Kumar Bose is a general secretary of the Indian Socialist Democratic Forum, which is dedicated to raising awareness about human rights in Third World countries. On 23 January 2016, Chandra Kumar Bose joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a public meeting in Howrah, in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

He was later appointed as the West Bengal BJP’s vice-president. He then contested in the 2016 West Bengal assembly elections from the Bhabanipur constituency. He also participated in the 2019 general elections from the Kolkata Dakshin constituency but suffered a defeat from Mala Roy of All India Trinamool Congress. In 2020, Chandra Kumar Bose was appointed as the chief ministerial candidate for the West Bengal assembly elections by the BJP.

On 7 September 2023, Chandra Kumar Bose announced his resignation from the BJP. In an interview, he explained that he could no longer work with the party as he disagreed with the party’s divisive actions that ruined their chances in West Bengal. He said,
