Chandan Shetty is an Indian singer, songwriter, rapper and composer who predominantly works in the Kannada film industry. He became famous with his personal track ‘Halagode’. He is called ‘Kannada Rapper Chandan Shetty’.

Chandan Shetty was born on Sunday, 17 September 1989 (age 30 years; as in 2019) in Shantigram, Hassan, Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Virgo.

He did his schooling from Rotary School, Karnataka and went to St. Philomena’s, Puttur to complete his PUC. He joined Vidya Vikas First Grade College, Mysore to study Bachelor of Business Management. After completing his graduation, Shetty started working as a call center executive in Mysore. He worked there for about a year. He then met the famous music director Arjun Gyan through Chiranjeevi Sarja, under whom he started working as an assistant music director and lyricist.

Chandan Shetty started his career as a lyricist and assistant music director with the Kannada film “Alemari” in 2012. Subsequently, he worked as a lyricist, music director and composer in films like Vardannayak, Power, Chakravyuh and Bhajarangi. Chandan made his singing debut in 2015 with the personal track ‘Halagode’. This song was a superhit and established Chandan as a singer.
In 2017, he participated in the game reality show “Bigg Boss Kannada Season 5” and emerged as the winner of the show. He took home the winner’s trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs. In the same year, she made her acting debut in the film “Vichitra Prema Kathe”.

Controversy
Chandan came into controversy after he proposed his love to his girlfriend Nivedita Gowda at Yuva Dasara, a popular program of Mysore Dasara. During a performance, Chandan went down on his knees and expressed his love to his lady, which people did not like because it was a government sponsored event. Mysuru Minister in-charge V. Somanna expressed his anger over the act and asked the police to issue him a show cause notice for using a public platform for a personal matter.
