Chakravarthy Chandrachud was born on Tuesday, 15 August 1978 (age 42 years; as in 2020) in Devanur, Chikmagalur district, Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Leo. He studied BE in Instrumentation Technology at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering in Mysore, Karnataka. Later he did MA in Psychology from Mysore University.

Earlier, he was married to Manjula and the couple has a daughter named Chukki. In 2013, he married South Indian actress and politician Shruti in Kollur, Udupi. Shruti is famous for winning the TV reality show ‘Bigg Boss Kannada 3’. At that time she was married to her first husband S. Mahendra was divorced and the couple has a daughter, Gauri. In an interview, Chandrachud talked about marrying Shruti, he said,
I have known Shruti for more than 25 years. We are from the same taluk of Hassan, we both are Vishwakarmas and our mothers are relatives. But it’s not just the similarities that brought us together. We’re close friends.”

Within a year, problems arose between the two when Chandrachud’s first wife Manjula revealed in the media that Chandrachud had married Shruti without divorcing her. After considering the whole matter, Shruti also decided to support Manjula. Later, Chandrachud’s second marriage was declared invalid in the court and Shruti separated from Chandrachud.

Since his college days, he was attracted towards the social work of Indian water conservationist and environmentalist Rajendra Singh. After this he studied the work history of social workers Rajendra Singh and Anna Hazare. After this he followed the footsteps of Rajendra Singh to contribute to water conservation. Later, he published his first book in Kannada ‘Jal Jana Kranti’ to promote water conservation in Karnataka. His book was greatly appreciated and appreciated by the readers. In 2014, he published his second book ‘Khali Shilube’ (Empty Cross), followed by his two other poetry books ‘Mailu Tutta’ and ‘Sava Kolluvavarige Shikshe Illa’. In 2017, he released a documentary “Mahamarana”, based on the Kalasa Banduri issue (dispute over distribution of Mandovi river water). He has also organized many social programs through his organization Darvesh Chowki.
Controversy
In 2014, after his separation from his second wife Shruti, he was accused of spying on her. While talking to journalists in an interview, Shruti said,
The problem started when I found out that my maid was spying on me for Shobha Chandrachud. They hired him when I was busy in elections. After returning from the election campaign, I came to know that Shobha was telling everything happening in my house to Chandrachud. I should have complained against him immediately, but he begged me not to, but I dismissed him.
Talking further about Chakraborty Chandrachud he said,
Soon, Chandrachud rented a house right opposite mine and started harassing me and my daughter. He would come home drunk every night and ask me to open the door; He threatened to shout and create ruckus if I did not talk to him. He even used to follow my daughter to her school bus stop and harass her. It became difficult for us to live in our own house because Chandrachud always kept an eye on what we were doing. He used to talk and smoke in front of my house with his journalist friends till after midnight. He would often say, ‘I will make sure bad things are written about you,’ but I ignored it because I didn’t think he was serious. One and a half months after removing my maid, I learned that she had filed a complaint against me, claiming that I had hit her and that I had locked her daughter in a room.
