Celine Dion reveals the emotional reason she wore a coat on stage at the 2024 Grammys amid health battle

Celine Dion is finally shedding light on her furry fashion statement that turned heads at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

At 56 years old, the singer, who revealed her diagnosis of stiff person syndrome in 2022, recently appeared on the cover of French Vogue. She turned the glamor up to eleven, flaunting couture ensembles in a photo shoot.

In the accompanying interview, Dion opened up about her health and also reflected on some of her iconic outfits in Vogue’s “Life in Looks” video series.

The video ended with her talking about her unexpected appearance at the 2024 Grammys. She was dressed in an elegant brown Valentino Haute Couture coat, over a pink dress, accessorized with a striking silver necklace.

“It was very stressful and, at the same time, a great honor,” he recalled of the experience of going on stage to present Taylor Swift with the Album of the Year award.

Although Dion acknowledged that the evening was quite exhausting, her outfit helped lighten the load.

“I thought, ‘Can I go on stage in a coat?’” Dion recalled. “’Oh yeah, you can do whatever you want in fashion. Just have a good time. Put on that coat. Own that coat. Go for it.'”

“And it made me feel better for a moment,” he added. “Hold on to this coat, hide a little from all these little things.”

In the Vogue video, Dion showed off her iconic talent by spontaneously performing her song “Imperfections,” capturing the essence of the moment perfectly. “I have my own imperfections,” she crooned.

“They gave me an immediate facelift,” he joked. “I start walking and think: ‘Will I make it? ‘Am I going to arrive with my future husband?’ But like I said, I’m going to run to you. I did. So the whole night, everything was great, people were happy, but when we took off the tiara, I cut myself because the pressure was too much.”

She believed she could bear the weight of the headdress sewn on her head that day, stating that happiness negates weight, problems and pain. However, Dion paid for it the next morning.
