Following the news that Kagney Linn Karter has passed away at the age of 36, the adult film star’s cause of death has been revealed.
TMZ reports that the Cuyahoga County Office’s official autopsy confirmed that Karter had committed suicide on Thursday, February 15, with the cause of death listed as an intraoral shotgun wound.
It was further revealed that Kagney Linn Karter’s mother called the police to report the suicide. A note was left at Karter’s home, where the suicide occurred. However, the Parma Police Department stated that it was unaware of the contents of the letter.
Just after leaving the adult film industry, Karter moved to Ohio and opened a pole dancing studio. During her time as an adult film actress, Karter won several Adult Video News (AVN) awards.
She was last seen alive by friends at a pole class on February 7. Her sudden death shocked her friends and family, as she recently posted a snapshot of her having fun on a Florida beach on her Instagram.
GoFundMe for Kagney Linn Karter’s funeral expenses receives more than $16,000
As her friends and family continue to mourn her death, Kagney Linn Karter’s friends Rachel and Megan have created a GoFundMe to help the late adult film star’s mother with funeral expenses.
On GoFundMe, Rachel and Megan talked about how Karter quickly became familiar with pole classes. He even opened his own studio in Akron. However, they acknowledged that Karter struggled with mental health issues over the years.
“Yet, even on her darkest days, she still showed up in the studio, always ready to learn, contribute, and improve in any small way she could,” they wrote. “As alone as she no doubt felt within the confines of her own head, she continued to strive to present herself to her friends and her community that cared about her.”
The duo also said Karter fought his battles with the tenacity and drive he showed in other areas of his life. “The news sank like a stone in our hearts. The horrible reality of a studio without Kagney, a community without her, seemed completely wrong. Unnatural. “Too difficult to accept.”
The GoFundMe was originally seeking $8,000. In just a couple of days, he raised more than $16,500. GoFundMe funds will be used in preparation for Karter’s memorial service.
It was noted that any leftover funds will be given to a local animal rescue charity. “Kagney had a pure adoration for all of God’s creatures. And, while no amount of money can ease the pain, if it can alleviate even a small amount of stress on Kagney’s mother and immediate family, that’s a win.”
