She started her career as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in the National Health Service in Nottingham, United Kingdom in December 2013. Any ambitious person may feel out of reach in the beginning but each training I complete brings me closer to my goal. My training expeditions in Greenland and Norway have helped prepare me and my goal has now been reached. It definitely feels colder in the last degree where I am at higher altitudes. I haven’t seen anyone here in the last degree and now I’m 15 nautical miles from the South Pole. I can’t believe I’m almost there.”

I made it to the South Pole where it’s snowing. Feeling a lot of emotions right now. I knew nothing about the polar world three years ago and it feels very surreal to finally be here. It was hard to get here and I want to thank everyone for their support. This campaign was always about more than just me. I want to encourage people to push their limits and believe in themselves, and I want you to be able to do the same without being labeled a rebel. I have been told no on many occasions and told to ‘just do normal work’, but we create our own normal work.

In his blog, he also shared a live tracking map of his campaign. On the 40th day of his campaign he wrote,

Day 40 – Finished. Preet has created history by becoming the first black woman to complete a solo expedition in Antarctica. You are able to do whatever you want. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or where you started, everyone starts somewhere. I don’t just want to break the glass ceiling; I want to break it into a million pieces.”
