Caitlin Clark roasts Michael Che during ‘SNL’ appearance

Iowa guard Caitlin Clark was the top women’s college basketball player the past two seasons. And now she is taking her talent to the professional level. She is preparing for the WNBA Draft on April 15, where the Indiana Fever is expected to select her first overall.

As part of her press conference for Monday’s WNBA Draft, Clark appeared on Saturday night live. During her appearance she was a guest on Weekend Update with host Michael Che. Che began by giving Clark an apron, hinting that the guard would be better off in the kitchen. After that, Clark started shooting at the SNL star.

“The great Caitlin Clark brought the house down with ‘SNL,’ teaching Michael Che to despise women’s basketball. The Iowa guard joined Che and Colin Jost for the weekend update, and early on, MC joked that Caitlin was going to trade her jersey for an apron,” TMZ wrote.

“Caitlin has her eyes on the teleprompter most of the time, but she turns around to say some really funny lines. He ends with a tribute to the great BB players who paved the way for him. He was kind and super cool!

Dawn Staley sounds subdued after beating Clark, Iowa

Clark had one of the best college basketball careers in history. Men or women. And it’s possible that she could have established herself as the greatest college basketball player of all time if she had won the championship. But coach Dawn Staley and the University of South Carolina thwarted her plans after defeating Iowa in the National Championship.

Coach Staley says reaching the top of the mountain when no one expected them to be there makes the victory that much sweeter.

“Honestly, God is funny. He is funny. We lose like we lost and then he says, ‘he’s okay, you’ll have to believe me.’ “I’m about to guide you through something no one expected, not even you with a team no one thought would make it back to the final four, much less win the national championship and do it undefeated,” Staley said.

“It’s like a fairy tale. For me it is pious. And that’s just me, that’s my personal feeling because there’s no other way to explain it because it wasn’t supposed to be like that. “You lose all your starters, you can’t get a team back.”
