Brittany Mahomes Named Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie

Adding another title to her growing list, Brittany Mahomes is a mother, NFL wife, entrepreneur, and now Sports Illustrated swimsuit newbie.

Sports Illustrated announced Thursday, February 8, that Patrick Mahomes’ wife will officially appear in the pages of SI Swim’s 60th anniversary issue as a rookie in 2024.

“The businesswoman and mother of two will appear alongside our list of women who empower, inspire and use their platforms to be seen and heard,” Sports Illustrated wrote in its recent Instagram post.

Brittany Mahomes’ accomplishments include being an owner of the Kansas City Current NWSL team, former professional athlete, wife, and mother. She is also the founder of the first stadium dedicated to women’s sports.

“Brittany’s journey has exceeded all expectations, inspiring others with her tenacity and unwavering determination,” Sports Illustrated continued. “We are proud to welcome her to the SI Swim family, where she will undoubtedly continue to empower women around the world.”

Brittany Mahomes posted her reaction to the big news on her Instagram Stories. “Plan my funeral because I am dead,” she wrote.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated about being a rookie in 2024, Brittany Mahomes couldn’t contain her excitement.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen,” Mahomes said. “I am very grateful, honored and excited to be here with this team.”

Brittany Mahomes, who participated in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit photo shoot in Central America, said she also felt very honored and still in disbelief to be there. “As a girl from Tyler, Texas, who really only knew sports, I never in a million years thought she would be in [the SI Swimsuit Issue]. “I am very grateful for this opportunity.”

Mahomes also noted that the title gives him a new platform to encourage others. “I want people to know that they can achieve anything,” he explained. “Even things you never thought would be possible in your wildest dreams.”

Brittany Mahomes then spoke about her career path away from her husband’s NFL career. “[My personal training journey] “It all started when I was playing professional soccer in Iceland,” he said.

“I didn’t have much to do outside of football, so I spent a lot of time in the gym working out, creating exercises and posting them online. I realized that he enjoyed it much more than playing football.”

Mahomes went on to share that athletes he admires have also been a part of SI’s swimsuit issue. Among those athletes are Alex Morgan, Sue Bird and Ronda Rousey.

“I think about all the amazing athletes I’ve seen over the years,” he added. “Just seeing elite athletes leave their comfort zone [and pose for the magazine] It’s so inspiring!
