Brijesh Singh (aka Arun Kumar Singh) was born on Monday, 9 November 1964 (age 55 years; as in 2019) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He was brought up in Dhaurahara village of Varanasi. Brijesh was a bright student and in 1984 he passed his intermediate examination from Udaypratap Inter College, Varanasi with good marks. After this, he did B.Sc. A science student turned criminal
Before making his mark in the world of crime, Brijesh Singh used to be a bright student who dreamed of making a career in the field of science. It was 1984 when Brijesh completed his B.Sc. Was enrolled in. He was studying in a college in Varanasi when his father Rabindranath Singh was murdered in broad daylight in Ghazipur. On 27 August 1984, while Rabindranath Singh was on his way home, he was stabbed to death in Ghazipur by his political rivals, the Harihar Singh and Panchu Singh gang. This incident broke Brijesh Singh from within and he swore to avenge his father’s murder and thus, science graduate Brijesh Singh took his first small step towards the world of crime. To avenge his father’s murder, Brijesh Singh had to wait for almost a year and finally on 27 May 1985, the day came when he came face to face with Harihar Singh, one of the main culprits of his father’s murder and within a few moments Brijesh was murdered in broad daylight in Harihar. This was the first time that an FIR was filed against Brijesh. After committing the crime, Brijesh ran away from the crime scene. His next target was Raghunath, the village head of Dharauhara village. Brijesh shot Raghunath in the court premises of Ghazipur in broad daylight. This was the first time that an AK-47 was used in a murder in eastern Uttar Pradesh. This incident woke up the administration, which started taking proactive steps to stop gang warfare in the area and in the process, several encounters took place and during one such encounter, famous gangster Panchu Singh was also killed.
Sikkoura massacre
To kill the rest of the gang of Harihar and Panchu Singh involved in the murder of his father, Brijesh Singh reached Sikraura village where he killed seven people including the then village head Ramchandra Yadav and his four children. Uttar Pradesh Police had made 13 people including Brijesh Singh accused in the Sikraura massacre. This was the first time that Brijesh was taken into police custody. The court hearing in the Sikaura massacre case lasted for 32 years; However, Brijesh Singh was acquitted in August 2018 due to insufficient evidence against him.

On 12 February 1992, Brijesh Singh entered JJ Hospital in Mumbai in the guise of a doctor and killed four members of the Gawli gang.
