Brad Daugherty is an American former professional basketball player. Brad Daugherty is the former center and five-time NBA All-Star for the Cleveland Cavaliers who later became an analyst for ESPN. He was also the first overall pick in the 1986 NBA Draft.
Early life and childhood
Brad Daugherty was born on October 19, 1965 in Black Mountain, North Carolina, USA. He is 57 years old and is under the astrological sign of Libra. He has American nationality and his full name is Bradley Lee Daugherty. And his nicknames are “Big Dukie” and “Hooch.”

Career and professional life
Brad Daugherty was the first overall pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1986 NBA draft. And Harper, Price and Daugherty, along with fellow rookie John “Hot Rod” Williams, immediately began paying dividends for Cleveland. All of them were named to the 1986–87 All-Rookie team.
He was able to average nineteen points and ten rebounds per game over eight seasons in the NBA and retired as the Cavalier’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder. He is also the leading scorer of all time until LeBron James broke the points record. He was able to play in 41 postseason games and lead the Cavaliers to the Eastern Conference Finals in 1992.
Additionally, he was a five-time All-Star in 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1993. On the occasion of the Cavaliers’ 30th anniversary in 1999-2000, he was a unanimous selection for the Cleveland Cavalier all-time team. .
Unfortunately, his NBA career was cut short when he was just 28 years old due to recurring back problems. He then never played another game after the 1993-94 season. And, after two consecutive seasons of inactivity, he announced his retirement after the 1995-96 season.

His business interests include automobile dealerships, waste management and commercial real estate. He also became a college basketball analyst and NASCAR broadcaster for NBC. He was even a color commentator, alongside Michael Reghi, for the Cleveland Cavalier broadcasts during one of the seasons.
He is active in many charities, such as organizing the Presbyterian Home for Children’s annual golf tournament, which raises money to support the home, located in Black Mountain. Additionally, she sponsored an annual scholarship to help a Presbyterian Home child receive a higher education.
Additionally, Brad Daugherty is a co-owner of a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team. He then joined ESPN’s return to NASCAR racing broadcasts in 2007. He then became an analyst on the weekly current affairs show Inside NASCAR on Showtime and on NASCAR Now, a nightly newscast about the sport.
Likewise, he is also the co-owner of JTG Daugherty Racing, owner of the number 47 Camaro ZL1 1LE driven by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Then, in November 2014, he began as a college basketball and NBA analyst for ESPN.
