Bones, the popular procedural television show, ended in 2017, but renewed interest in the show has fans wondering if, or how, the series could ever be rebooted.
Series creator Hart Hanson spoke to Variety in a new feature, sharing if there’s actually talk of a revival, or it’s just mere hope.

According to Hart, a reboot isn’t totally out of the picture.
“We are in contact with each other,” he says of keeping up with the cast. “Everybody on Bones is in contact with each other. At separate times, it’s like, ‘What are you doing? What’s the availability?’”
However, he also notes that bringing back the show would be a legal battle, all due to the Disney-20th Century Fox merger.
“It’s complicated now because Fox broadcast Bones, but Disney now bought 20th, so they own [the show]. It would take a million agents and lawyers to figure out who owns what and what platform it would show on,” he says. “But we do keep talking. And every once in a while, we are all nostalgic enough to think, ‘Maybe we should do it again.’ Who knows? Maybe this will bump-start us.”
While there’s talk, it’s a known fact that it wouldn’t happen without Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, who led the show for 12 seasons, alongside Tamara Taylor, T.J. Thyne, Michaela Conlin and John Boyd.
“We have heard that they would not not be game, which is a step,” Hart added. “The actors are going to say the truth, which is it depends on what it is, the scripts, what it looks like, if it feels right. They’re not going to do something just because it’s us.”
When the show ended in 2017, there was major talk about the finale scene. Here’s what happened…
