Bobbie Jean Carter, sister of singers Nick and Aaron Carter, died at the age of 41.

Bobbie’s mother, Jane Carter, confirmed the story with TMZ today (December 23).

“I am shocked to learn of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening a third time,” she said. “When I can think clearly, I will release a more complete statement; but until then I would ask to be allowed to cry in private.”

“[H]No matter how deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, a young child’s suffering from the loss of a parent must be much greater,” he continued. “So, I would ask those of you who are understanding to pray for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now without her mother as well.”

Jane did not share the circumstances surrounding the death, but TMZ says Bobbie Jean Carter died in Florida this morning. She periodically battled addiction throughout her life.

As Jane wrote in her statement, she has lost three children in just over a decade. Her daughter Leslie died of an overdose on January 31, 2012. She was 25 years old. Jane lost her son Aaron Carter on November 22, 2022. He died by accidentally drowning while drunk. Aaron was 34 years old.

Bobbie Jean appeared in eight episodes of the Carter’s Housewhich aired for one season in 2006. She also worked as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist for Aaron’s concert tours of the early 2000s.
