Nimaiya tricks Renji and Ichigo into a hut with a large hole filled with angry Asauchi, saying that they must survive to get a new sword. At the end of this experiment, he revealed that the purpose of this was for the Asauchi clan to choose them and become their new Zanpakutō base. Apparently, Ichigo doesn’t have a sword on his sword at all, and he still doesn’t because Nemea refuses to make one for him.
