The 2024 Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles on February 4. As you can imagine, all the biggest stars in the industry were in attendance. One of those stars was singer Billie Eilish, Eilish went viral after donning a custom Barbie jacket at the event’s red carpet pre-show.
The jacket provoked a multitude of reactions from fans on Twitter. “I had a calculus class after the Grammys,” one user joked. “She’s actually allergic to serving,” added another. “The mother is motherly,” said a third.
Barbie Star reacts to Oscar nomination
The Barbie brand saw an uptick after the film’s release last summer. América Ferrera, one of the stars of the blockbuster, recently found out that she was nominated for an Oscar.
It was the former Disney child star’s first nomination in a career that began in 2002. It was very shocking, Ferrera says. A part of her is still in disbelief.
“There was a moment when I wasn’t sure I invented it,” Ferrera told Variety. “And then my phone started exploding. “So I thought I must have heard right.”
The first people to blow up his phone were actresses Blake Lively, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel. The quartet co-starred in the film “The Brotherhood of Traveling Pants.” It is perhaps the most notable film of Ferrera’s career.
“They FaceTimed me as a group right away,” Ferrera added. “It was hilarious, fun and emotional. These women I have had the honor of growing up within this industry. And be loved, encouraged and supported by them. What we all do for each other. They are incredible and a great gift in my life.”
Eilish talks about adjusting to fame
Eilish has been in the industry for a long time. And she quickly rose to fame, becoming one of the biggest stars in music. But in a 2023 interview with Sirius XM radio, Eilish said she initially had a hard time adjusting to fame.
“I think for the last many, many years, I’ve honestly been too afraid to go out or do anything or be seen anywhere because I just didn’t know what was going to happen,” she said.
“I think I’m coming out of my shell more and allowing myself to try to have fun and see the kinds of things I can do.”
