Biography/Wiki

Bhayuji was a distinguished spiritual leader. He belonged to a farming family from Madhya Pradesh. He worked hard to make his career. After graduation, he did several small jobs to earn his living and later managed to get a suitable job in Mahindra Cement Plant. When he came in contact with Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, he decided to join Indian politics.

Maharajji came into limelight across the country when during the Lokpal movement of 2011, the Central Government sent him as its ambassador to break Anna Hazare’s fast. Anna Hazare broke his fast by drinking juice from them.

In 2016, a year after the death of his wife Madhavi, he decided to ‘retire’ from public life. But, his mother and sisters convinced him to remarry, after which he married Ayushi Sharma on 30 April 2017.

He did great work for the welfare of the society and established institutions like ‘Shri Sadhguru Dutt Religious and Paramarthic Trust’ for teaching students and distributing scholarships to them. His another organization ‘Suryoday Ashram’ mainly does development work in rural areas of Maharashtra.

On June 12, 2018, at around 12:15 pm, he committed suicide by shooting himself with his personal licensed revolver at his residence in Indore. In his suicide note, he has stated the cause of his death as deep mental stress. He also appealed that someone should take care of his family.

Born on 29 April 1968 in Shujalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Bhayyuji Maharaj belonged to a Maratha farming family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh (India). His real name was Uday Singh Deshmukh. His father’s name was Vishwas Rao Deshmukh and mother’s name was Kumudini Devi. He also had two sisters.

He married a girl named Madhavi and became father to a daughter, Kuhu, in 2002. Unfortunately, Madhavi died in 2015 and two years after her death, on 30 April 2017, he married Ayushi Sharma, a doctor.

livelihood

After completing his B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science), Maharaj did various small jobs and even worked as a part-time model for ‘Siyaram Suitings’. However, after a lot of efforts and hard work, he finally got a job as a project engineer in Mahindra Cement Plant.

When politician Anil Deshmukh introduced him to Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, he joined politics and played an important role in the rise of the Congress party in the Maratha region.

Later he became close to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also offered him the post of Minister of State which he rejected.

Controversy

In 2017, Mallika Rajput, a Mumbai-based writer, had accused Bhayyuji of cheating on her. According to her, when she met him for the first time he asked her to write a book on his life. He accepted the proposal and wrote his biography and gave 950 copies of that book to Bhayuji. Mallika claimed that he did not release her book and did not even return the copies to her. However, Young Nation Saint described it as vague information and the Trust did not approve the book.
